Baldwin Street was also once bustling with Jewish-owned businesses, and while the community has diversified, the legacy of these early entrepreneurs can still be felt.

Our Expert Guide will help you uncover Toronto’s hidden Jewish heritage. A key highlight of the tour will be the Anshei Minsk Synagogue on Saint Andrew Street, one of the last remaining active synagogues in the downtown area. We won’t skip a visit to Kensington Market, the former heart of Toronto’s Jewish life, as still evident in the architecture and some of the remaining businesses. Explore the history of Jewish institutions and schools that once flourished in this lively area! The tour will conclude at the church which once served as the Henry Street Synagogue, a testimony to the diverse religious communities that have coexisted in this part of Toronto.
